The Unitarian Church of Barneveld is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association. The UUA is a denomination that combines two religious traditions:  the Universalists, who organized in America in 1793, and the Unitarians, who organized in America in 1825.
The denomination's history can be traced back to Eastern and Central Europe in the sixteenth century. It was in 1961 that the Universalists and Unitarians merged, forming the Unitarian Universalist Association.

Our congregation is made up of people with personal theologies developed and evolved from  many religious backgrounds.

We welcome people of all faiths, in the belief that each of us is a unique expression of that which is good. We are all part of the interdependent web of life.

Religion Without Dogma

We offer a church where you are free to develop your own religious philosophy and find the fellowship of a caring and thoughtful religious community.  Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson's belief in freedom of thought and freedom of belief are manifest in the many Unitarian principles our founding fathers included
in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau were important Unitarian philosophers and ministers.

Tired of Junk Mail?

So is the earth.  Green Dimes was started by a man determined to make stemming the tide of
unwanted catalogs easier.  The name was based on a 10 cent a day membership, but the annual fee has been cut in half.  The organization gets names at your address deleted and restricted from bulk mailing lists, and lets you add specific catalogs that get through to a removal list maintained on your membership page on their web site.  The site tracks the number of pounds of junk mail to your address it has blocked ~ and
trees it has planted.
